BULLS WAGS CONQUER BEN NEVIS FOR CHARITY

Bulls WAGS joined other Super League Clubs WAGS to conquer Ben Nevis for Charity last Saturday.
Kerryann Sidlow and Katy Cummins joined Rosie Laycock, Jamie Langley's partner, Georgia Louise Smith, James Donaldson's partner and Jessica Encell, Jarrod Sammut's partner to raise money for charities Life for a Kid  and the Ear Trust..
Helen Skelton, the adventurous Cumbrian-born Blue Peter presenter added to an ever growing list of feats this past weekend by also conquering Ben Nevis in the searing Scottish heat.
Helen and 67 of her fellow wives and girlfriends of players of the Super League (Rugby League) achieved the climb up the UK’s highest peak, standing at 1,344m tall, to raise money for charities Life for a Kid and the Ear Trust.
With temperatures souring to 38 degrees at the summit, the prior training and support from their professional sporting partners; Helen’s fiancĂ©e is Warrington Wolves star Richie Myler, certainly paid dividends as the ladies showed brilliant tenacity and determination in reaching the peak.
The Life for a Kid charity is the brainchild of Lisa Yeaman, wife of Hull player Kirk Yeaman, which helps to raise money for children who require life changing operations and equipment to lead a better life; and also the Ear Trust charity, which helps to support families and children who are born profoundly deaf. With the help of Super League partner Foxy Bingo sponsoring and supporting the ladies on their way, along with many other kind donations, the charities have managed to raise an impressive total upwards of £20,000.
Helen Skelton described the highs and lows of the day. “There have been a few tears and tantrums along the way on what was a very difficult climb in the heat, but I am so proud of all the girls. It’s a great achievement and a great way to meet other girls within the sport of the Super League”
Alongside Helen Skelton, was Jenna Brough, wife of Huddersfield Giants, Danny Brough, who played a key organisational role in the build-up to the event. “The girls have done tremendously well in such difficult conditions. It is great to all rally together, despite supporting different Super League teams and achieve a common goal. Of course, the support received from donations particularly Foxy Bingo has been a brilliant as well.”
